I’ve been learning a lot in my Psychology of Women class, probably more about myself and the patriarchy than ever. I feel like a crazy hub of knowledge now. Here’s a doodle from class that is kind of motivating me to write my midterm essay for the class. I’m a sexual being and none of you can take that away.

Anonymous asked: This may be a dumb question, but when using they/them, do you think we should say "they are"? Or "is." I don't wanna mess up.

This is totally not a dumb question, thanks for asking! You can totally say they are and have it be acceptable.

If you need some help practicing with specific pronouns, this is a good place to test out those pronoun skills!

I just thought I would bring up something important. Not too long ago on my personal facebook page, I came out and talked about my gender identity and pronoun choices. After two years of dealing with people using different pronouns for Awkward Shelby and spending so much time thinking about my own pronouns and how it would translate to the webcomic, here is a public service announcement about it. I am genderqueer, specifically neutrois, and I use “they/them” pronouns.

This is a good website to check out regarding pronouns and their importance, where you can read an article, watch a video of trans youth, and even get some practice on using new pronouns: https://minus18.org.au/index.php/resource-packs/pronouns

I’ve probably drawn this same position of myself too many times. I’m just sleepy a lot.

It wasn’t even that bad. I just didn’t want my rosy cheeks to give away the fact that he was reading my paper anonymously out loud.
